ALEXANDER AHRENS

is partner of Samp Schilling & Partner and is advising domestic and international clients in all areas of corporate law and M&A. Within that area he focuses on advising in relation to joint ventures and transactions. Further, Alexander has extensive experience in providing ongoing corporate law advice, including advice on intra-group corporate restructurings and domestic and cross-border conversion measures. Alexander is recognized in the year 2023 by the renowned German business and finance newspaper Handelsblatt among the Best Lawyers in Germany for mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Samp Schilling & Partner Alexander was at a renowned international business law firm in the corporate law and M&A team focusing on real estate transactions.

Alexander has studied law in Freiburg, Rome (Italy) and Berlin and has been a qualified attorney since 2013. He is fluent in German, English and speaks Italian.

  • Advising an international energy supply group on the acquisition of several photovoltaic projects at the project development stage
  • Advising project developers on wind farm transactions (Buy-Side and Sell-Side)
  • Advising an investment fund on the acquisition of a commercial high street property in a major German city for re-development
  • Advising the real estate developer INBRIGHT on the forward sale of a logistics property
  • Advising a European private equity investor on the acquisition of a majority stake in a Dutch hotel operating group.*
  • Advising a British private equity investor on the acquisition of a shopping center, including the joint venture agreement with the minority partner. *
  • Advising a Berlin-based asset manager on the acquisition of a residential real estate portfolio of 1,350 apartments. *
  • Advising a Canadian REIT on the establishment of a joint venture for the acquisition of an office building in Vienna, Austria, and the entry into the Austrian market. *
